Wholesome Microwave

What can be more wholesome than a microwave,
Making meals in minutes, saving time and fuel?
What could be more harmless than that plastic bowl?
But ask the man who owns a dog or cat
If he would feed them from a bowl of metal.
Have you not heard the tragic stories yet:
A doggie Biscuit in a plastic dish
That licked its chops and then lay down to die?
A feline friend who ate a rubber mouse
And later coughed it up as a distressing puff?
Now I'm a vegetarian, but I must confess
When I'm in a hurry, I am not above
Poaching an egg or two in a microwave,
As long as it's a natural, organic egg,
And I have not forgotten how my mother would
Scare us into eating all our vegetables,
By saying, ‘Don't you know that one of these
Might be a potato with an eye in it?’
