Apple crust

What does a vacuum cleaner do?
It rolls around upon the floor
Won't wash the windows, and it won't mend the chair.
Mom mops the floor with hands so clean
And Daddy wants us all to clear our plates.
But where are they when right before his eyes
A piece of apple - a sweet juicy prize

Is stuck upon the carpet by the hall?
"Get daddy's vacuum! Quick, quick, quick!"
You call them. "He'll get that stuck up apple crust.
"But when he gets it, oh, then he grumbles,
"And that is why they roll around the house.
